Hospice Volunteer Training Series... several products to meet your needs.

Our SYSTEM is a core curriculum that your hospice builds upon with interactive & relationship building activities.  In addition, our SYSTEM includes tools for initial & annual competency documentation.

  1. Bullet3 DVD’s - 6 hours of instructional information make up the core of our hospice volunteer training.   There are 16 Segments - aimed at meeting your Medicare requirements - see topics above.  View video on sample page.

  2. BulletOn-Line Training Portal - The same educational video segments that are on the DVD’s are available through our on-line video portal.  A KEY (license) is purchased for each volunteer to personally access the video on their home computer.  This will add increased flexibility for the hospice and volunteer.   (On-line segments are receiving a visual face-lift - becoming more visually dynamic than original versions.  As completed, each segment is uploaded to the Portal.)

  3. BulletIn-Service / Refresher On-Line Portal KEYS - Finding it difficult to gather volunteers together for in-services, and wishing you could offer each volunteer the specific topic they need?  Now you can!  Simply purchase 2 Day KEYs to our On-Line Training Portal.  Assign  topics based on the volunteer’s needs.  Use our annual Volunteer Review and you’ll know which topic would be an appropriate refresher segment for each volunteer.

  4. BulletManual - Full text Manual contains all information on the DVD’s and on-line segments.  Some volunteers in training like to read the Manual.  Keep a Manual in the office for reference and a loaner Manual for persons who wish to simply read the Manual.  Vinyl front & back covers protect the Manual - 3 tabs divided by  Group or DVD make it easy to use - high quality spiral binding - easy to read font.

  5. BulletSpanish Manual - Complete translation of the full text Manual.

  6. BulletWorkbook - English & Spanish - Student Workbook provides key points in sequence with the video segments.  Also includes room for notes as well as the Competency quizzes and Reflection questions for each segment.  Reflection questions are an extra tool for volunteers to further explore the information and coordinators to better understand the volunteer.  Spiral binding makes it easy to hold flat and write in.  An excellent resource for the volunteer to keep, containing key information from the video segments.  Quizzes & Reflection questions (short essay) pull out for hospice documentation.  Plus they easily add 5+ hours to the 6 hours of instructional DVD.  Your logo FREE on the cover when ordering 12+ Workbooks.

  7. BulletVolunteer Review - 11x17 newsletter/magazine format.  Designed as an annual competency evaluation tool.  Multiple choice, true/false and short essay questions in a professional colorful format.  A new edition will be made available yearly making it a great choice for annual review purposes as well as analysis of which topics should be scheduled for an in-service.  The Review may also be used anytime a volunteer needs a competency check or for pre or post training.  Answer sheet is set up to serve as an analysis tool, indicating which topics need to be reviewed or which topics need to be covered in an in-service.

As soon as someone expresses an interest in becoming a hospice volunteer, you are ready!  No more hoping that the volunteer will wait for the next set of training classes if you allow volunteers to begin their training through independent study using our learning system.

READY - One approach to allowing volunteers to begin their training with independent study:

SET

Set the volunteer up with the Hospice Volunteer Training Series DVD or on-line access KEY & Workbook to begin their personalized volunteer training program.  Or, some people may wish to read the full text Manual.  Keep in touch by phone, e-mail or face to face visits. File their competency quizzes and reflections.  Meet with the volunteer individually or in small groups to cover your hospice’s history, record keeping and other specialized information.  Build upon the core information covered in the DVD or on-line training and use the face to face time to build relationships, motivate, discuss, role play and develop that all important sense of belonging.

Once the volunteer has finished the independent study program and any additional requirements to meet your particular standards, complete the final interview process.  Give them their first assignment and they are ready to GO!
